CEREMONIAL HELMET & SHIELD

This iron helmet and steel shield were probably made for ceremonial use by Indian or Iranian soldiers. They were made in the early nineteenth century and decorated with flowing ‘mughal-style’ designs in over-laid gold and silver. They were lined with padded velvet.
